Around 10am we(people still in the dorms) were lined up and escorted like inmates to the gym in the rain across a muddy field. Biggest guns I've ever seen in my life. I huddled with my suitemate and a friend in the bleachers until I absolutely had to find a plug for my cell phone charger. They escorted more people in and gave us food around 1pm. A window was opened in the gym bathroom after a bit(smokers trying to get a bit of relief) and I could see a battalion of police in ass-kicking gear and snipers on a roof. More waiting, (slowest news ever!) listened to press conference footage over the phone, tried to find a comfortable position to nap in, watched instigating idiots get schooled, and vainly gleaned affirmations on whether or not midterms were still on. Finally got to see my adviser.

We were released about an hour ago, by section and gender, to our dorms. Still on lockdown. Vague affirmations that it's okay to go home early. Waiting for new campus updates on dinner and future classes.

Campus on lockdown. Sirens of perpetual warning for dog sneezes going off eerily. Campus alert saying 'possible shooting'. The culprits in my dorm? More likely than I really want it to be, says THE PRESIDENT of my institution. Police came by, jiggled the doorknobs; suitemate is camped out here, freaked out and needs to pee. Am antsy.

UPDATE DUEX: That's last time I ever want a big fucking gun pointed at me. Even for the relative safety of the masses. Police still sweeping hallways.
